This is known as ‘blooming’, when the cacao butter becomes separated from the chocolate. Unfortunately, this can sometimes happens in transit if the product encounters extreme changes in temperature.
Although the chocolate is perfectly fine to eat or use as an ingredient, the flavour and texture will not be as intended. In such circumstances, please get in touch with us. We will be happy to assess the situation, and arrange a credit or replacement for your chocolate.
Most of our products have a shelf life of 18-24 months from the time of production, under ideal storage conditions. We do our best to ensure there is sufficient stock rotation, to allow us to send out the freshest stock possible. The ideal storage conditions will vary for different products, but in general a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from warm areas, will be the best for keeping our products as fresh as possible.

The vast majority of Loving Earth products are Australian Certified Organic (ACO). This means that our foods and processing facility have been audited to the highest standards to achieve ACO certification; we comply with national and international standards for organic farming and processing.

Having established long-term relationships with several indigenous cooperatives, our aim is to help them add as much value as possible to their raw products at the point of origin. Yes - all Loving Earth products are 100% vegan, and made in our plant-based manufacturing facilities in Melbourne. We process no animal ingredients in our manufacturing facilities, and check all suppliers for possible cross-contamination of animal containing ingredients.
We've also had some of our products certified as vegan by Vegan Action. This means that every ingredient has been checked by a third party, confirming that they do not contain animal products or by-products, and that they have not been tested on animals. Eventually, we'll have all of our products as certified vegan, however as the process is very thorough, it will take a little time until we've achieved that!
